Development
Salford Estates, owners of Salford Shopping Centre, are pleased to announce that Salford City Council has decided to grant planning permission for the extension to the Precinct. The approved plans will provide 13 new retail units to completely revamp the Precinct. The development will `deliver more shops', `improve customers' shopping experience' and `create 300 new full and part time jobs'. The approved application will also facilitate the closure of Pendleton Way and provide a new indoor market building.
The Precinct was at the centre of the recent riots in Salford during the summer. It is envisaged that the approved application will act as a catalyst for regeneration.
"The decision to grant planning permission will transform the shopping experience at Salford Shopping Centre" adds Debbie Illingworth "The development will attract Big brand retailers and significantly improve the shopping environment and space for the market traders we can expand the range of shops on offer in areas like sports and fashion."
